So yeah, five minutes before I get out of work yesterday, becca frantically texts me asking if i wanna go for food. Food? Duh!
after that, it turns out she's going back to Neshaminy to see the show for the second time that day, would i like to come? Show? Duh!
Show was good, but what was weird was how much I'm remembered by the current cast of neshaminy high kids, who apparrently recall me from summer stock days. The sheer number of people who said hi and were actually happy to see me was astounding. Becca was completely freaked, and needless to say, i was endlessly weirded out. Was i this popular back in high school? If so, why didnt i notice?
God, i was an idiot back then. Thank god ive got an ego now.

Ha! You're lucky with your trips back to HS. The few trips I've made since I graduated (and since my brother graduated for that matter) have been nothing short of awkward. I am eyed as what feels like "the strange one" and during the last trip, I caught up with a friend, but it was awkward with another and I wondered how I had survived high school.
I'm still stunned with how a trip back during my freshman year of college went as I looked forward to catching up with people, only to discover I was on one side of the room while everyone else stood on the other side, talking. (It was an invitation to talk about life at college to high school honor students). It was then I realized how I must have been seen in high school.
As I told my brother today: "I was the girl you DIDN'T date in our high school. I was weird." I was the girl guys could be friends with but wouldn't date.
To this day, I wonder how many of those guys found me intimidating and I wonder how the heck I ever survived that place.
I suppose that's the great thing about summer stock - there're so many classes involved, so you're still remembered for a while. I'm mostly unknown, since music activities outside of summer stock have 3 classes worth of people in the high school. Once Ben graduates, I'll be entirely unknown, save to the teachers and any visiting alumni.
Now, I'm not sure this reflects on high school itself, but it certainly shows how well-respected you were in summer stock. And, that is awesome.
oh. my. god. you sound like such a douche.
What an amazing contribution to the discussion! I am floored by the eloquence of the preceding comment. Truly, you are a master of rhetoric.
Of course, the comment could've been directed at me. If so, well done! You've been able to bring out my being a douche, and that's pretty hard to do.
To Mr. Master of Rhetoric,
my comment was actually not directed at you, although the manner in which you used rather large words to make that rebuttal does make you sound quite, how would you say it, pompous? I would merely say that you sound like you have a pole shoved up your ass.
My comment was actually directed at the author of this blog. Mostly to his closing line of "Thank God I have an ego now". To you I say that an ego is nothing to be proud of. Ego implies arrogance, overconfidence, and would make any woman run screaming (as I'm sure many already have). What you have now gained is called self confidence. And congratulations to you, but don't make that hubristic mistake and become another egotistic male. Evolve.
And so Mr. Master of Rhetoric, is this contribution enough?

P.S.-High school is over people. Move on. Chances are that you WERE an idiot back then and most likely that you still ARE.
Don't have the balls to post who you might actually be? And you are right, maybe ego isn't the right word to use. Harry has confidence in himself which is something I haven't seen in him since we first met in 10th grade, if he even had much then. If you don't like Harry or the way he is then I don't understand why you are reading his blog. What are you, some sort of virtual stalker? Get a life, especially if it is you, Jen.
Coming home this weekend Harry. Come see me! Platonic <3

A douche?
Harry's a lot of things, but a douche?
No no. He's just a goober. Come up with better insults. I felt my intelligence slowly melt as I read it....
Oh well.
