Quite simply put, Wall-E was the best film I've seen this year. I say this in the face of Iron Man and Indiana Jones, and possibly the upcoming Dark Knight. Forget the fact that it's animated, it looks more photo realistic than a lot of the more recent comic book movies, and the friggin' robots have more acting talents than say, Cate Blanchett in Soviet fatigues. Sure, the humans you meet about forty minutes into the film are unrealistic and stylized, but when i stopped and thought about it, if Pixar were to do them live action, the fat suits would be so rediculous and cartoony that it would have detracted from the film rather than added to its realism.
When Wall-E looks at EVE, look into his eyes(or rather, photoreceptors.) I've never seen an actual actor with eyes that telling, not even Johnny Depp at his peak. Should something that resembles a camera zoom lens make you cry? And how do we submit that Wall-E be nominated for best actor? Do we nominate the Pixar team, or what?

It isn't his eyes so much as it is his body language. Animation is all about over exaggerating the motions.
No one reads your blog, but its ok Harry, I still platonically love you!
I concur, Wall-E was magnificent.
